O Liebe, so lang kann ich dich lieben!

Sight-sang+play through Liszt's O Lieb, so lang du lieben kannst - which Duchess got for me from the States!! *glomps her and squeals*

Ahh... Franz's harmonies are as exquisite as ever! I can't make up my mind which version sounds better - the piano transcription or the original Lied. Me being biased, I guess I'll say both! Actually the differences between the two are significant. (Ya, I know one's with words and the other isn't, but I'm not talking about that!) The Lied brings out the emotions of the poem with Franz's expertise on atmosphere settings (accompanied with lots of sighing...) but the melody is more emphasised and fit perfectly with the instrument in the piano transcription.

Melts... Finally, a dream come true at last!
