Bring Kantarou down to earth! - Issue 1

Lol, please don't *rolleyes* after reading the title... Somehow my heart (not my mind) strongly insisted on that, so there you go. As promised, I bring you regular updates

from my ongoing research on Tactics.

Currently I'm focusing on Kantarou and his chants.

In most of the Tactics episodes Kantarou uses a nine-word spell/chant to exorcise the demons. They are known as the Kuji-in, and are supposed to fortify one's chi if the words are uttered with the corresponding hand gestures.

There are the nine words Kantarou chants in the anime:
臨 Rin - Strength of body or mind
兵 Pyo - The direction of energy
闘 Tou - Harmony (with the world)
者 Sha - Healing (of self and others)
皆 Kai - Sensing danger
陣 Jin - Empathy (knowing the thoughts of others)
裂 Retsu - Spacial and Chronological awareness
在 Zai - Control of nature
前 Zen - Enlightenment

(the second may be pronounced as "Byo", like what Kantarou did.)

And the Kuji-in is found in Mikkyo Buddhism, so you should probably figure Kantarou's religion out already.

[Will provide the brief history of Mikkyo Buddhism in the next issue - frankly, Mikkyo isn't the easiest kind of Buddhism to research on. Materials are rare - either online or from printed publications. However, if I can load Kantarou's nine hand gestures in time, I might focus on that instead in Issue 2]
