The exam's over! I wanna throw the scores away, but I rather keep them. Spent too much money on them already. Gratitude for the encouragement from the people around me. *bows*
Well, everything's over. I'm free from future exams, and I want to sing tons of German Lieder! Of course I won't give up on the Italian operas; I love them as well, but Deutsch ist Liebe (German is Love). ^__________^ I'll start by stuffing myself full with the songs by Hugo Wolf, but the last composers I'll be exploring will be Strauss and Mahler... *stays far far away from them*
Frau Lim is not back from UK yet, so next week's without voice lesson. ;_; Sigh... But at least the Elijah concert will keep me and my vocal cords preoccupied for that week. After that, I want my Wolf Lieder, Mrs Lim!! Hee...
Oh yes, about the exam. Think I went flat for my traditional song (a semitone perhaps?), but I managed to hit a clear B for the Mozart aria. Guess I finally managed to redeem myself after last year's failure to hit a A. Glee. The examiner's a lady, but I think she's... er... weird? Or maybe just tired. Firstly, she asked me about the context in Das verlassene Maegdlein (Wolf's). Thank God I know German... Phew... That was unexpected. And then after I sang the Mozart operatic aria she casually asked if I liked Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro... I was taken aback, but managed to reply that it was my favourite Mozart opera, but what I was thinking at the back of my mind: "Er... The aria is from Mozart's Cosi fan tutte... Not Marriage of Figaro... *palmface*" Of course I wouldn't dare correct her. I love my exam marks more than Mozart. :P
And here comes the weirdest part - the aural section. She gave me those from Grade 7 standard and didn't notice! No wonder the listening section was so easy. It was only at the second section that she noticed something and I was already very confused. See, in Grade 7 you get to sight-sing the upper part of a phrase, and in Grade 8 it was the lower part. So when she gave me the starting note for the upper part melody, I gave this expression: o_O. Haha, I really did... I was already so bluuuuuuuuur... thanks to her... But anyway, we restarted the aural section (correct grade this time, lol) and everything went pretty well. Except the last section... I wanna crap lots but she didn't let me. Oh well. I'm a analysis-freak anyway. All the better to shut me up.
However I still have work (IFC rehearsal) in the evening, so when I came out of the exam studio I couldn't accept the fact that the exam is over. It was until when I reached home around 10.30pm that it hit me. Freedom, and frighteningly, it's also accompanied by a 'lost' feeling. Suddenly direction-less. Don't know where to go next, what to do next. That... wasn't me. Hope the pace of life will pick up tomorrow. (what crap... o_O)
Oh, lastly, I think that Monster should be banned. I was psyched out of my mind.
